About Us
Located in a rural setting, the Humane Society of Jefferson County is one of the oldest shelters in the state of Wisconsin. It is an open admission shelter and a safe haven for about 1,000 lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets each year. The HSJC provides high quality, compassionate care and recognizes that each animal is an individual with its own unique character and needs. We work hard to ensure the comfort and emotional wellbeing of our animals as they wait to be adopted into loving homes. We also emphasize education and awareness through Community Outreach programs to inspire a kinder and more humane community.
