HSJC Furry Friends 5K run/walk
Join the race to help homeless pets at the Humane Society of Jefferson County’s 12th Annual Furry Friends 5K Run/Walk. What can you expect? A safe, tail-wagging experience that is fun for everyone! This family- and dog-friendly event will take place at the Jefferson County Fair Park with a beautiful flat scenic course that ensures first time walkers and runners can comfortably participate alongside the more serious runners.
In 2024, The HSJC introduced first ever KidK Obstacle Run/Walk!
- GEARED for ages 1 to 6, but anyone can register to get in on the fun.
- All participants will get a medal. There will not be an award ceremony for the KidK Run/Walk.
- The obstacle course will have different activities for each participant to explore with color powder, hopscotch style obstacles, rail yard, and so much more.

The Humane Society of Jefferson County (HSJC) has been serving the community since 1922. HSJC provides life-saving services for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals as well as a wide range of community animal services and humane education. Each year the HSJC helps save, serve, and provide forever homes to more than 1,000 animals in need.
