Tapping the Untapped Workforce
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the Latino Academy of Workforce Development's Annual Tapping the Untapped Workforce career Fair on Thursday, May 11th, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Watertown Public Library, 100 S Water St., Watertown, WI 53094. The event is both a time for employers to introduce their businesses and industries as well as an opportunity for participants to learn about and apply for open positions.
What is the intention of the event? To introduce and expose career opportunities and connect with leading industries companies that are hiring. The career fair is FREE and open to the public.
Tapping the Untapped Workforce Career Fair is an innovative workforce event model developed by the Latino Academy that draws participation, no easy task amid this region’s low unemployment rate. The event is structured to work for families by providing free childcare, children’s activities, and food. The late afternoon to early evening time frame is more accommodating of school and work schedules since these job candidates are more likely to attend if it’s an event for the entire family. Many, if not most, participants in these career fairs are currently employed and attend because they are looking for better careers with more family-sustaining pay and benefits. Most importantly, the Latino Academy implements its highly successful word-of-mouth, grass roots, community partners, and proactive marketing efforts among its more than 2,200 community members that it serves annually in Dane County and surrounding cities. Trust in Latino Academy’s quality programs and community reputation is a strong recruitment tool.
