About Us

Dedicated to the care and maintenance of the goats of Goat Island in Jefferson, WI. We work to improve the public access to visit the goats and enjoy the island. We celebrate our local goat friends at the annual Goat Fest held the first Saturday of August at Rotary Waterfront Park.

CAN I VISIT THE GOATS ON THE ISLAND?
Yes! You can visit the goats via personal watercraft. Many people kayak to the island.

ARE THE GOATS ON THE ISLAND ALL YEAR?
The goats call the island their summer home typically from June-September depending on the weather and the level of the river. They spend the remainder of the year under the care of a local farmer.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO VIEW THE GOATS FROM THE ''MAINLAND''?
The two best places to view the goats are from the Wisconsin Drive Bridge or West Riverview Drive near Keeper Baits. You might also catch glimpses of them near the dam at Rotary Waterfront Park or from the patio of Heron's Landing.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT GOAT FEST!
Goat Fest is a family-friendly event held annually the first Saturday of August at Rotary Waterfront Park to celebrate our local goat celebrities. The goats are brought over from the island for the day where guests can pet and feed them. The day is chock-full of music, kids' activities, food, craft vendors, goat races, just to name a few. It's always a ''goat'' time!

CAN I BUY GOAT ISLAND MERCH?
We sell Goat Fest t-shirts at Goat Fest.
