Community Dental Clinic, Inc. was established in 2007 to provide basic dental health services to low-income, uninsured, and Medicaid patients in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. The clinic is located at 520 Handeyside Lane, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Before the Community Dental Clinic was established the area hospital emergency rooms were frequently used for dental emergencies; resulting in high costs and little or no resolution of the dental problem. The average cost for an emergency at Community Dental Clinic is $30 to $100 compared to the cost of an emergency room visit for thousands of dollars. Anyone who has had a dental emergency knows, it’s a pain that will not wait! Funding to maintain this important community service comes from Medicaid reimbursements, local United Way’s, other granting agencies, and donations. Uninsured patients who are not eligible for Medicare are charged a small fee.
