Jefferson County Celebrates National Nutrition Month and Senior Nutrition Month
JEFFERSON, Wis. – March is both National Nutrition Month and Celebrate Senior Nutrition Month, and Jefferson County is proud to highlight the vital services provided through its Senior Nutrition Program. This program delivers nutritious meals and essential support to older adults throughout the County, helping them maintain independence, well-being, and stronger community connections.
In 2025, the Senior Nutrition Program served more than 27,500 home-delivered meals and 5,250 congregate meals at community sites across Jefferson County. These meals are only one part of the program’s mission. Staff and volunteers also work to reduce social isolation, promote overall health, and connect participants with additional home and community-based supports that enhance independence and quality of life.
To celebrate the Senior Nutrition Program, Kimberly Lafler, Senior Nutrition Program Supervisor for Jefferson County, is hosting a meet-and-greet event in Fort Atkinson on March 25. Community members are invited to attend and learn more about the program, meet staff, and participate in fun, engaging activities. Reserve your meal at 920-728-4756 by March 23 or earlier. Suggested contribution is $5 per meal.
Residents interested in learning more about home-delivered meals or other nutrition services can contact the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Jefferson County at 920-674-8734.
