Jefferson County Fairest of the Fair Coronation

Jefferson, WI – The results of the 2025 Fairest of the Fair program were finalized during the coronation held on January 26, 2025, at the Activity Center in Jefferson County Fair Park. This event marked the start of an exciting journey for the newly crowned Fairest, who will serve from 2025 to 2026.

Hanna Brattlie, a 19-year-old student at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, was crowned the 2025 Jefferson County Fairest of the Fair. A lifelong participant in the Jefferson County Fair, Hanna has admired the Fairest of the Fair program since childhood. Her passion for rabbits and poultry has been evident from an early age, and she looks forward to mentoring exhibitors in the upcoming Fair as she takes on her new role.

The Fairest of the Fair serves as the official representative of the Jefferson County Fair and will attend numerous events throughout the year, including the Dairy Breakfast, parades, community gatherings, and book readings. Hanna is already brainstorming creative ways to connect with the community in her upcoming term.

The coronation event brought together family, friends, and former Fairest titleholders. Before the crowning, Danielle Chwala, the 2024 Fairest of the Fair, delivered an emotional farewell speech. Reflecting on her experience, Chwala shared:
“My biggest takeaway from my time as Fairest is that change is going to happen whether we like it or not, so we need to be flexible and trust that what is meant to be will be, even when it’s not always easy.”

Following Chwala’s heartfelt remarks, she and 2019 Fairest titleholder Libby Hafften presented Hanna with her crown, sash, and tiara. With bouquet in hand and tiara on head, Hanna said the following in her acceptance speech:
“I have been so involved in this Fair for my whole life, and it’s awesome to be able to be the spokesperson and the face of the Jefferson County Fair.”

The coronation followed the judging day, held on January 10, 2025. During judging, Hanna participated in a professional development session, created a social media campaign and poster, and interacted with the judges in a professional manner. Judges Rochelle Mitchell and Jim Braughler, both dedicated supporters of the Fair, evaluated the candidates based on poise, professionalism, and passion. Braughler commented:
“My favorite parts were the Danielle’s acceptance speech and hearing Hanna talk about her experience with rabbits at Fairs. She was so passionate.”

The success of the 2025 Fairest of the Fair program would not have been possible without the generous support of several sponsors. Awaken Salon will provide hairstyling services to ensure Hanna looks and feels her best while representing the Fair from July 9–13, 2025. Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Creamery graciously donated cheese for the coronation, adding a special touch to the snack-and-mingle time before the crowning. Jelli’s Market contributed to the scholarship fund, enabling Hanna to pursue her goals after her reign. Finally, Premier Bank, the signature sponsor of the Fairest of the Fair program, provided invaluable support throughout the entire process.
