School District of Jefferson - Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Coordinator

Jefferson High School is looking for an Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Coordinator.  Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills, previous experience with the sport, coaching experience, fundraising experience, organizational skills, and strong desire to work with other coaches within the athletic department.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support all participants as students and athletes.
• Be knowledgeable in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. 
• Organize and help lead daily practices. 
• Supervise athletes during practices and games and ensure their safety.  
• Develop skills through camps, contact days and weight training.   
• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of the WIAA and the School District of Jefferson.

• Certified Educator experience is preferred
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification 
• Previous high school or college playing experience 
• High school, club or college coaching experience 
• Possess excellent organizational skills and provide program oversight 
• Understands and teaches skills/fundamentals, rules of sport and associations; including technical and tactical components of the game 
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and communicates clearly with athletes and parents 
• Ability to supervise and monitor student-athletes in various settings 
• Mentor and develop relationships with scholar-athletes and encourage a healthy, fun and competitive outlook in sport 
• Previous defensive coordinator experience preferred
